Proof of English Proficiency

All students who do not meet one of the options below will be required to submit proof of English Proficiency as part of their UNC Charlotte application. This requirement will be assigned regardless of your US immigration status.

Please note: Test scores for English Proficiency are only valid for 2 years. The minimum scores required for consideration do not guarantee admissions, but will be used in a holistic review of your application.

Earn 24 credit hours at a US university or community collegeGrade of C or better in 6 hours of humanities or Grade of C or better in English Composition 1 & 2 (classes must be completed before applying).
Degree from an accredited U.S. CollegeTranscript showing a transferable associate’s or bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited US institution.
